New Economy Shipping Rates
Shapeshifter | July 12, 2008In an effort to help with the rising shipping costs and moving towards more green practices, we have found a way to ship the CDs at an economy rate. Rather than sending the jewel cases, we will send the CDs and the tray cards and you can provide the jewel case or not. This enables us to ship in a cardboard sleeve and to be able to use first-class rates.
This should really help those of you overseas. The only drawback is that delivery times will be slowed. For one, we have to go to the Post Office to ship them out, as with the others, they come to our studios to pick up. So there can be a day or two delay there. First class shipping takes 5-7 days in the US and can take as long as 6 weeks to countries outside the US. The average is about 2 weeks however.
The next step….is to go totally digital and as green as possible. We are working on that now and will be offering our albums as full downloads using the FLAC format. FLAC is a lossless compression, very similar to ZIP for text files. This is a format especially for music files. If you want to read up on it, you can start with these links.

You will need software that will convert the FLAC file to an .aif (high fidelity, lossless sound file). They are free for both Mac and PC.
